Celebrating Jake and Victoria in Mckinney, TX

I couldn’t wait to see this couple again for their wedding!  I met them for their engagement session back in February and absolutely fell in love with them!  These two were my 2016 Wedding Collection Giveaway package winners. They received a complimentary engagement session and full wedding day coverage, and I could not have been more thrilled to spoil them!  They were so sweet and kind as I got to know them. I loved to hear stories reminiscing of how they met and their romantic proposal. The best part was seeing Jake’s not-so-secret plan of being sweet on his bride-to-be in action the entire afternoon at their engagement session.

Victoria and Jake had their special day at the McKinney Flour Mill. It was filled to the brim with rustic charm and elegance.  I thought this was such a perfect and idyllic choice for their fun, down-to-earth personalities. As you can see, their wedding was absolutely amazing. 

A Quiet Moment Shared

After getting ready, these two had a special first touch, which has quickly come to be one of my favorite traditions in weddings.  Unlike a first look between just the bride and groom, a first touch adheres with the long-standing tradition of the groom not seeing the bride before the ceremony.  I was lucky to find a quiet doorway where Victoria and Jake could spend a quiet and precious moment together. They cherished this moment; talking, praying, and sharing their emotion and excitement.  Sweet Victoria even had to wipe away a little tear (believe me, she wasn’t the only one).

It wasn’t the only time she was overcome with such joy.  Everyone was choked up witnessing Victoria’s emotional promise to Jake during her vows in the ceremony.  Once she and Jake were announced husband and wife, she was able to relax and enjoy herself during their portraits and afterwards the reception. The fun-loving young woman I knew and her sweet husband let loose to join their family and guests at their McKinney Flour Mill wedding reception!

Dancing the Night Away at the McKinney Flour Mill

The evening was spent dancing and singing the night away with family and friends.  I am pretty sure they even got some two-stepping in.  Of course, knowing their backstory, I was aware that both of them have had plenty of practice! A tender private dance alone at the end of the evening was the perfect wrap up for the day while the guests assembled outside for a bubble send-off!

Although they expressed several times how blessed they felt having their love story professionally captured, they truly ended up being a huge blessing to me. Their genuine spirit shined so bright and it was so clear how truly kind and bursting with love they are. I cannot express enough how much I’ve loved getting to know them!
