Goodness, Texas has been rainy and dreary recently! I feel like all I have wanted to do this past week is stay in with a cup of coffee! Although I usually love this sleepy gray weather, looking back on some of the engagement sessions I captured this past spring and summer has me craving the sun! Patricia and Zach’s Spring Arbor Hills Engagement Session in Plano has been one such example, and today I am SO excited to share their images! Full of laughter, joy, and fun, these two were absolutely delightful to get to know!
Patricia and Zach are playful, light-hearted, and so incredibly down-to-earth. Basically, all of the things you could want during an engagement session! They don’t take themselves too seriously, and neither do I, so this is basically a match made in heaven! As we explored Arbor Hills, I enjoyed getting to know them better (my favorite part of engagement sessions!), capturing some amazing portraits of the two of them, and joking basically the whole way! Honestly, I’m super impressed we still got so many romantic images because we were giggling for what seemed the whole time! I’ll chalk it up to how photogenic these two are and how easy they make my job!
I can’t wait to get these two in front of my lens again for their big day this December! Patricia and Zach will be tying the knot at Verona Villa in Frisco, Texas. I’m already dreaming of how beautiful their celebration is going to be and cannot wait to give them big hugs again! For now, enjoy this bride- and groom-to-be’s spring Arbor Hills engagement session and learn more about them below!
How did you two meet?
“I had just started working at a new job, and a coworker invited me and one of my training class friends to his New Year’s/Housewarming Party. My friend and I went to the party, where I was introduced to my coworker’s good looking brother. We chatted and played party games for the rest of the night and the rest, you could say, is history!”
How did he propose?
“We had gone down to his parents’ house in Southeast Texas for Christmas Eve (we were going to drive ack up to Dallas on Christmas day to eat dinner with my family). His family traditionally opens presents on Christmas Eve, after Church. Once I thought all of the presents were opened he said “Wait, there’s one more” and pulled a wrapped box out. I opened up to a ring box, and then he pulled me to the Christmas tree and asked me to marry him. Of course I said “yes!”, and as an added bonus his brother got the whole thing on video.”
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!
“I am so excited for the dress! I saw it on the designer’s Instagram last May and knew I had to have it! Zach is most excited about the food and the groom’s cake – he LOVED the cake (and he’s not a sweets person), and we both got something we wanted for the entrée (we’re doing a dual entrée with brisket and chicken).”
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?
“Make sure you have a good time with your partner! It shows in the photos when you’re genuinely enjoying yourselves, so don’t be too stressed. Laugh and have a good time – it makes the experience one to remember!”
Did you enjoy your engagement session experience
“It was better than we could have imagined! Zach isn’t always one to want to take pictures, but he was surprised when the session was done – it didn’t feel like it had been an hour and a half! We had so much fun, and Emily really made the experience 1000x better than it could have been.”
Tell me one interesting thing about one another!
“Zach played football at Texas A&M and Patricia speaks Russian.”
