Being from the south, I’m well aware sports are EVERYTHING here! It’s part of the culture! If you don’t play a sport, you choose a team and root for said team like you are part of that team (whew, that’s a mouthful!). And from where I’m based here in Columbia, South Carolina – that team is the University of South Carolina Gamecocks!

Enter Jeremy and Julie. He’s a USC alum who played football, and she currently pitches for USC’s softball team. Together, they are ever-so-in-love, and an incredibly beautiful couple, at that!

Jeremy and Julie knew of each other in college but officially began dating about three years ago. Their proposal story was one of the sweetest I’ve ever heard! After one of their games this past fall which they closed by singing their Alma Mater (like always), Julie turned around… and there was Jeremy on one knee asking her to marry him! Julie said yes, and her teammates all rushed the field with excitement for their friend!

It makes sense why Julie chose to have her engagement session at the USC horseshoe and the USC softball stadium. Talk about having a story to tell! It was so exciting to capture sunset engagement photos of Julie and Jeremy in the very spot he proposed! As you can see, this couple also had no problem loosening up and having some fun…they took turns pitching to one another while I stood back and captured them just enjoying one another’s presence. Was I worried I might get hit? NOPE! I might have had a little concern for my camera, though…ha! Just kidding – that’s what insurance is for! ;)

I hope you enjoy this fun, romantic engagement session at the USC Horseshoe as much as I enjoyed photographing it all! I can’t wait to capture their wedding in August… they are going to make a STUNNING bride and groom!!
