Oh, this wedding…it’s one I’ll never forget, for multiple reasons! The most important few are obviously this gorgeous, wonderful couple who seriously belong on the cover of a wedding magazine but are also just a delight to be near. Their family and friends added to the joy of the day through their support, smiles, and celebration of the couple’s union. Not to mention we were able to take advantage of two stunning venues – 701 Whaley for first look and portraits (their rehearsal dinner took place there the night before, so they got approval for some extra time there on the day of the wedding) and The Farm at Ridgeway! I love the contrast between a more modern, industrial look and a rustic, down-home feel! As a Dallas Wedding Photographer, I still adore traveling out to South Carolina for a these rustic, southern weddings!

For a vastly different personal reason, I’ll also never forget this wedding because I was HOSPITALIZED the night before I flew out! Yes, You read that right! I was three months pregnant or so, and had already relocated to Texas and was establishing myself as a Dallas wedding and destination photographer while traveling to and from South Carolina. It was most definitely a trying period which ended up taking a toll on my health when I was awakened at 3 AM on a Thursday morning with chills, CRAZY vomiting, and fever. I knew immediately that I needed to go to the hospital, so off we went around 9 AM. Come to find out, I had a full-blown kidney infection and my body was starting to feel the effects of the illness moving a lot faster than it normally would. After IV fluids and a few rounds of pain medication for my back and nausea, the doctors told me that I needed to stay Thursday night. I reluctantly agreed and bought an extra plane ticket for Dustin in case I relapsed while on the trip, but everything turned out fine and the wedding was amazing!

(Side note – I DID end up developing another kidney infection a few weeks later, but it wasn’t near as serious. Pregnancy does some crazy things to you!)
