Dreamy Rustic Wedding at The Grand Ivory in McKinney

I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be sharing Julia and Matt’s rustic wedding at The Grand Ivory in McKinney! This has been one long anticipated day since their engagement session at Arbor Hills last fall. I can’t believe how fast the time flew by until the month of their big day when Julia and I began exchanging emails to ensure all of the final details were in place! I am so happy to say that these two are now husband and wife, and that their wedding was one we will not soon forget!

This Grand Ivory wedding was beautifully captured by Jillian, one our amazing associate photographers. Simply viewing the images on my own makes me feel like I was actually there, experiencing each minute alongside Julia, Matt, and their families. There were so many breathtaking moments made this special day one that reminds us of why we love what we do!

The day began peacefully in the quaint cottage set upon the lush rolling hills of the Grand Ivory. As Julia gracefully transformed from a woman into a gorgeous bride, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and felt the emotion beginning to well up. You can bet there was not a dry eye in that bridal suite! Julia also shared a heartfelt first look with her father prior to the ceremony, a wedding tradition I just love!

When it came time for Matt and Julia to say “I do,” everyone eagerly anticipated the bride’s entrance. Since they opted not to do a first look, this was going to be Matt’s first time seeing Julia as his bride! Matt is usually pretty stoic, but the sight of his future wife walking down that aisle did him in – and Julia, too! Such a sweet moment for everyone to witness!

I remember and cherish every couple and their weddings; truly, it is an honor to share in each bride and groom’s special day. However, Julia and Matt’s wedding was one that reminded us of the importance of photography and the sheer gravity of what we do as wedding photographers. Just a few days after experiencing the best day of her life, Julia got the news that one of her beautiful bridesmaids, Erin, had been involved in a horrific accident that ended up robbing her of her life. I feel heartbroken for both Julia and Erin’s family whom have had to endure unspeakable tragedy and pain. In a bittersweet way, I also feel such gratefulness that God gave us the honor of photographing some of this sweet soul’s last moments on earth. It was so clear through these photos that the two friends experienced sheer joy and delight on this day, and those memories are now forever preserved. How meaningful it is to be a part of that.

Julia and Matt, I cannot imagine a sweeter, more perfect couple together. It has been wonderful being able to journey alongside you both from your engagement to your wedding at The Grand Ivory! Thank you for trusting us with some of the most important memories of your life!
