I always encourage couples to think a little “outside of the box” when it comes to selecting their engagement session locations in Dallas. After all, engagement photos should be 100% representative of the couple, their love story, and their personalities! So, when high school sweethearts Sydney and Anthony approached me about taking their engagement photos at their old high school, I was immediately on-board with the idea! I’m thrilled to share the outcome and a few of my favorites on the blog today!
This engagement session is special to me because Sydney and Anthony are new friends of ours whom we’ve recently met through church! Anthony just happened to see me working on my laptop prior to a worship rehearsal and was in the midst of planning his proposal to Sydney. He began asking questions about my work and business, and after popping the question, we began chatting about their big day! Dustin and I have grown close to this sweet couple over the past few months and love having them in our life group. They are ever the complement to one another and their personalities mesh so well. It’s so obvious that they are best friends – the perfect foundation for a beautiful marriage! I am so excited to be a part of their special day, witnessing them join together as husband and wife!
Sydney and Anthony are tying the knot at Aristide Flower Mound at the end of this month! In the meantime, learn more about my friends and soon to be married couple below!
How did you two first meet? First thoughts/impressions?
“We met in high school in band. Anthony played the tuba and I played the flute. We used to hang out before school in the band hall. Timing never lined up for us so although we liked each other we were friends for a long time before we finally got together!”
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!
“Our Photographer! No really! The day flies by so fast and with Anthony’s love of photography, we are really excited to have the memories documented so that we can relive that day together and with our children for years to come!”
Describe the PERFECT date night…
“Our first date is a great example of our first date night! We went walking in a park and then to a nice dinner with a great bottle of wine!”
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?
“Just trust your photographer and let loose. Just have a great time together!”
How was your overall session experience?
“We had a wonderful time! It was a great time for us to get close and be silly and just enjoy each other. It was relaxed and we felt great!”
Tell me one interesting/unique/funny thing about one another!
Anthony: “Sydney has a “you’re misbehaving look”. I try my hardest at all times to get that look from her. I love it!”
Sydney: “Anthony loves having the best of things! Some times it means I have to tell him we can’t spend $70 on salt and pepper shakers, but most of the time his desire to spend money or time on things that matter helps me loosen up and look at the big picture instead of all the little details that go into decisions.”
