Personal: Celebrating Mother’s Day 2017

May 17, 2017

Emily with her two children Austyn and Lincoln

Here’s a fun piece of trivia for you…DID YOU KNOW that by far and large, the most “liked” photos on my Facebook and Instagram are images that have my kids in them? Seriously! My past, current, and future clients love when I share personal photos, so I’m really trying to make an effort to allow more glimpses into my life more often!

This past weekend, we were so fortunate to be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with BOTH sides of our family! For the longest time, Dustin and I lived in the Carolinas while our parents/siblings were still in Texas. We always knew we’d be back someday, but it definitely took some waiting on God’s timing! Now that we’ve relocated to Dallas, we get to spend loads more time together. Every holiday we’re hanging either with one side or both!

This year we rounded the kids up for a Mother’s Day Lunch at a local eatery. We talked, laughed, and of course took photos – what good is it having a family member who is a professional photographer if she doesn’t bring her camera around every now and then?!

Look at this little buddy! Lincoln LOVES cheesin’ for the camera! He’s gotten really good at it, thanks to his big sister showing him the ropes!

My little mini-me! Yes, she did her hair on her own!

Dustin with his momma and sister! She’s carrying my NIECE! So excited for you, Danita!

I wanted a photo with just me and my mom – I know I’ll always cherish this portrait!

I definitely didn’t get all of the photos I wanted – part of being a Mommy and a photographer is that you have to kind of take the time you can to get photos while managing tired kiddos. But at least mommies and babies are all represented! I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful family!

Praying you all had a meaningful Mothers Day this year!
