I was so happy to be asked by Charlotte and Michael to capture their Classic Wedding at Reflections on Spring Creek venue in North Plano. This venue was gorgeous and has so much to offer allowing for a ceremony and reception in one location and lush gardens for photographs. I loved spending time with them getting ready for their wedding and reception. They did a gift and letter exchange in advance which was super sweet. Charlotte even gave Michael a drone as a wedding gift! It was so sweet and touching to see the smile light up his face. He was so surprised as he is a hobbyist photographer!
A Sweet Ceremony
As the guests arrived they signed a guestbook in and around the petals of a dahlia flower. The Victorians used the dahlia to signify a lasting bond and commitment between two people. I found this was so fitting for a wedding, especially Michael and Charlotte’s! The ceremony was super unique. They arranged the chairs in concentric rings (which the venue was great about accommodating), and Charlotte processed around the circle to make her grand entrance. This gave her a great chance to greet and see everyone as she made her way to her groom, who watched with adoring eyes.
Instead of a unity candle symbolizing the joining of their two lives, Charlotte and Michael chose to water a plant arrangement together as part of their ceremony to symbolize the growth of their lives together and relationship. I absolutely love this idea! It gives an extra special meaning to the term “love fern”!
A Commitment of Love
Both Charlotte and Michael’s families were so happy and excited to see them united in marriage. I loved the heartfelt toasts, the high-fives, and the hugs in celebration of this couple! Oh, and let’s not forget about the great dance moves! Scroll down and see for yourself!
The reception was a lot of fun, and the couple were amazing hosts. Every person left their day feeling just as loved as the couple did. What a display of support I saw that day from both sides!
Capturing this Classic Wedding at Reflections on Spring Creek for Michael and Charlotte was an honor!
