My absolute favorite way of meeting new clients is through current brides and grooms with whom I am already working. Yes, referrals – they are the BEST! Do I sound like a broken record? Because I know I talk about this a lot, but if you’re getting referrals, you know you’re doing something right! That’s why treating your clients to an unforgettable experience is the best thing you can do for your business!!

Anyway, I could go on and on about referrals – but the point of it all is that I actually met Britney and Matt through Chelsea and HER Matt, whose wedding I’m photographing next May! Britney and Matt are tying the knot next March at Wintergreen Woods in Lexington, SC – and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to capture their engagement photos at The Farm at Ridgeway in South Carolina!

As she tells me, Britney had a crush on Matt from the moment she first saw him in the clubhouse at her friend’s apartment complex. Although they’d see each other around from time to time, they never really spoke until they bumped into one another during exams week on campus at USC. Strung out on caffeine (her words!!) and probably emboldened by the coffee-induced buzz, Britney tried to start a conversation…that didn’t really last as long as either of them thought. After a brief exchange, Britney became a little embarrassed and bolted away!

Two weeks later, Britney and Matt bumped into one another again at the pool in her friend’s apartment complex. She discovered that he was moving back to Connecticut due to the high cost of out-of-state tuition. Britney was devastated, thinking that she was finally getting the opportunity to act on this very real connection they felt, but they decided to make the most out of the time they had. The two were almost inseparable for the next few days. Matt actually did end up moving back to Connecticut but was still totally taken with this incredible girl he’d met in South Carolina. Over the next few weeks, he ended up pushing harder than ever to get in-state tuition. A month full of texts, FaceTime chats, and long distance communication went by, but Matt was finally was approved for in-state tuition…so back to South Carolina he went, and the rest is history!!

When Britney and I started discussing possibilities for her engagement session, she mentioned that she really liked the idea of a natural setting where they could relax, have fun, and just be themselves. Having passed by The Farm at Ridgeway a few times, I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to photograph there – and I was so right! Britney and Matt looked amazing cuddling among rolling hills, under trees, and just laughing together on a beautiful early fall afternoon in South Carolina. I hate to state the obvious, but aren’t they absolutely gorgeous? They both could seriously be models – I had so much fun photographing them, and can’t wait to spend more time with them at their wedding in March!!
