It’s a busy weekend for Emily Chappell Photography, and we are starting it all off by celebrating Naomi and Kevin’s wedding day at the popular Ashton Gardens in Corinth, Texas! I first got to meet this insanely cute couple last fall for their Adriatica Village engagement session where I learned more about their love story (a proposal in Switzerland! YES PLEASE!), their extensive travels together, and their overwhelming love affair with all things FOOD! While not many people get to experience an overseas proposal, I think many of us can relate to the food obsession!

Point is, Naomi and Kevin are an incredibly down-to-earth couple who just fit together so perfectly, and I could not be more thrilled to celebrate their union today at Ashton Gardens in Corinth!

How did you two meet?

We both attended the same high school all four years, but we did not actually meet each other until our senior year in AP Statistics. Around March, we started talking to each other and immediately hit it off! We went to prom together in April and started dating a week before our high school graduation.

How did he propose?

Kevin proposed in Switzerland (my mother’s side of the family lives in Switzerland). My entire family: grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were all staying in my grandparents’ old house. Every evening we would gather as a family and play games. It was on one of these evenings that Kevin, my sister, and my cousins organized a game that had me blindfolded. During this game, I was supposed to be guessing what the mystery items were. One of these mystery items was the engagement ring. When I took my blindfold off, Kevin was on one knee and proposed! This is a very special moment for us because my entire family was able to witness and celebrate the engagement with us!

Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!

First, we are extremely excited to have Emily as our photographer. After getting our engagement photos back, I cannot wait to see how amazing our wedding photos will look! We are also very excited to be getting married at Ashton Gardens. We fell in love with the huge windows in the chapel, as well as all the trees that are in the background of the windows.

What did you each wear to your session?

For our casual look we both wore comfortable sweaters and jeans. For our more formal look I wore a pale pink dress with nude heels and Kevin wore a suit.

What kind of look were you going for?

We wanted to have one casual look that had fall tones in it and one look that was more “dressy”.

Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?

Relax and have fun! The time will fly by quickly!

How was your overall session experience?

We both had so much fun during our engagement session! Emily immediately made us feel so comfortable. She helped guide us with our posing which was extremely helpful! The hour and a half flew by because we were enjoying ourselves so much!

Tell me one interesting thing about one another!

Naomi: Kevin has an obsession/addiction to hot Cheetos. He has, on more than one occasion, eaten an entire bag for his dinner… He might possibly love hot Cheetos more than me!

Kevin: One of Naomi and I’s favorite activities is FOOD! She can actually eat more than me most of the time!
