classy gaylord texan engagement photos

It must be engagement season around here, because the inquiries for 2017-2018 weddings are rolling in like crazy, and my schedule is filling up soon with amazing brides and grooms! This is the time of year that I suggest to anyone who is recently engaged – book your favorite vendors, and book them fast! I’m already 65% full for the year, and January isn’t even over yet! With that, I am so excited to introduce my first session of the year, Jessica and Will, and their Gaylord Texan engagement photos!

Jessica and Will are a stunning and athletic couple. Being a weight lifter myself, one of the first things I asked Jessica was “do you lift?” She was totally rocking her black sleeveless dress and looked incredible doing so! Will looked handsome and tailored in his suit and was the perfect compliment to his beautiful bride.

Jessica and Will are high school sweethearts and grew up swimming together, hence their strong builds, and love being active in their free time. We were also able to connect on the fact that I’m also from Louisiana, although I’ve been in Texas most of my life. In fact, the pair are very new to Texas, so I was happy to be able to welcome them to this great state!

When planning Jessica and Will’s engagement session, we had thought we’d visit some outdoor spots to get some beautiful natural light, but unfortunately the weekend brought cold icky weather and lots of rain. Since Jessica is still between states, she was unable to reschedule. Fortunately, I had an idea for an indoor photo location in Dallas and suggested the Gaylord Texan for their engagement photos! The Gaylord is covered by a glass ceiling which allows in natural light while keeping out the elements. I’d stayed at the Gaylord Texan Resort a few times before, but this was my first time photographing there. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the beautiful nooks and crannies! I loved the neutral textured concrete backdrops in addition to the greenery throughout. It was a perfect location for Jessica and Will’s Dallas engagement photos, and they did an amazing job in front of the camera!

Jessica and Will’s wedding is coming up in just a couple of months, and I could not be more excited to be a part of their special day! A huge congratulations to you two, and thank you so much for the honor of photographing your love story!
