One thing I discovered quickly when moving to South Carolina was that I had to pick my loyalty…and fast. If you don’t know what I’m referring to – it’s the HUGE rivalry that pits USC fans (the Gamecocks) against Clemson fans (the Tigers)!! It’s pretty intense!! For whatever reason, our family ended up deciding to root for USC…and yes, this is definitely moreso for my husband’s sake than mine, being the huge sports fanatic that he is!
I’ve also learned how much of a privilege it is to get married on campus at the historic USC Horseshoe, which is for many kind of like sacred ground…especially if you’re alumni, like Lynn and Ronnie!! The Horseshoe is where this fun couple decided to turn their “I do’s” into forever!! Their beautiful ceremony took place at Rutledge Chapel and was followed by an evening under the stars on the patio of the McCutchen House. I loved how their wedding day unfolded, tying together a sense of intimacy but at the same time an undeniable atmosphere of fun and good times! Lynn and Ronnie delight so much in one another, and get so much joy from being able to share that happiness and laughter with others!
Just to name a few of the surprises from the day, Ronnie had a beautiful vintage car pick Lynn up from the hotel where she and her bridesmaids were prepping for the day. He also read the sweetest letter he’d written especially for Lynn during the reception and had her seated in the middle of the dance floor to listen to it all. Lots of laughs and tears rolled straight from this heartfelt moment! The couple also spent a good portion of the night dressed up in props from their prop box… Ronnie danced around with a bunny tail while Lynn posed with a red clown nose. So fitting for them both!!
And last but not least, Cocky (the Gamecocks mascot) made an energetic appearance during the reception, and everyone broke out doing the Chicken Dance!! I may or may not have joined in for a bit!!
Everything from the location, to the details, to the events that took place were so uniquely Lynn and Ronnie. I have been so blessed to get to know this couple over the past few months, and was honored to photograph their wedding. Congratulations, Lynn and Ronnie!
