I look forward to every single one of my weddings I photograph. It’s why I LOVE what I do as a wedding photographer! That being said, sometimes you find you just connect in a special way with certain brides because your style and artistic preferences lean in a similar direction. When that happens, you might find that the wedding your bride is planning looks exactly like how you’d plan your own if you were doing it all over again! That, friends, is exactly how I have felt about Kaitie and Scooter’s wedding day from the moment I met them last February.

Kaitie and Scooter’s River Road and Jasmine House wedding was an absolutely perfect representation of them as a couple. They wanted their celebration to feel very organic, modern, and fun, which speaks volumes about their personalities. Kaitie loves style, fashion, and the city life, and Scooter is practical, handy, and feels more comfortable in a country setting (he’ll surprise you with his musical skill, though!). Their unique combination works so perfectly. Seeing how tenderly Scooter cares for Kaitie is just about the most moving thing you’ll ever witness.

I was excited to be able to photograph at the River Road and Jasmine House because it’s really one of my favorite venues in the area. Kaitie and Scooter also fell in love with it because, as Kaitie says, “Everything about the RRJH was just so US which was the ultimate goal…the venue is like a beautiful secret garden and we both have a love for both actual vintage and a vintage feel which the venue also perfects!”

There were so many incredible moments during this wedding, and I am so honored that I got to be THE ONE to capture it all in photographs. I asked Kaitie and Scooter to reflect on their favorite memory of the day. Kaitie says, “This is a really hard question. I can’t pick! I loved having our first look, I loved getting to read my vows/hear his, I loved having all the people I love in one place having a blast together. It was all just the best!” while Scooter comments, “The first look was my favorite!” (By the way, don’t miss their beautiful first look images – I felt like I was in a movie getting to preserve these memories!)

Lastly, I asked Kaitie to share any advice she might have for future brides: “The most important things though I would say are book your most important vendors as early as possible, you don’t have to spend a years salary to have a beautiful and perfect wedding, and BE ORGANIZED. I had a wedding planner app in my phone that I lived by for a year and a half. I sort of feel lost now not having to check it lol! But I saved myself so much stress by using a planning app so I could have all my budgets, all my to-dos and all my notes. I couldn’t of done it without that!”

I hope that as you look through these images, you allow yourself to get caught up in this beautiful love story, just like I did on Kaitie and Scooter’s wedding day. From the soft, organic florals and decor, to the lush and otherworldly feel of the River Road and Jasmine House, and then finally the CELEBRATION to end the night just right… these two could not have planned a more perfect summation of who they are, now, as a married couple.
