Rustic Wedding at Lindsey Plantation in Taylors, South Carolina

October 20, 2016

One of the greatest honors and joys as a wedding photographer is to photograph the weddings of brides who were in the wedding party of your former brides – it’s like things just come full circle, and you get to continue working with couples with whom you click so well! This was the case with Meghan, who was in a previous bride’s wedding and contacted me when she got engaged to the love of her life, Keller! It was wonderful seeing this beautiful lady again and also getting to know her fiance a little better over the course of their engagement session, her bridal session, and finally their wedding at Lindsey Plantation in Taylors, South Carolina!

Lindsey Plantation is easily one of the most scenic wedding venues I have ever had the privilege of photographing. Situated in Taylors, South Carolina which is right outside of Greenville, it boasts vast, open fields and a breathtaking mountain view. The ceremony location is decorated with rustic barn doors to allow for the bride to make her entrance and a gently manicured meadow with a 360 degree view of the soaring skies. In many ways, it reminded me of so many rustic, rural wedding venues in the Central Texas area!

There were so many wonderful and bittersweet emotions during Meghan and Keller’s wedding day, commemorating not only the couple’s marriage but also the memory of Meghan’s late father who passed away years ago. It was such a beautiful and moving experience. One of the most memorable moments took place when Meghan’s bridesmaids, mother, and future mother-in-law prayed over her – we all had a good cry! I also loved watching Meghan’s mother “give her away” after they lit a candle in remembrance of her father. Hearts were full and tears abundant as the ladies honored Meghan’s late father.

Each wedding reminds me of why I love being a wedding photographer, but Meghan and Keller’s wedding was intimate, special, and truly one-of-a-kind. I was on cloud nine watching these two unite as husband and wife. Keller cares so well for his sweet bride and Meghan looks upon her groom with ultimate respect. This day was the beginning of a breathtaking union between two beautiful souls who have committed themselves to serving one another and God.

Meghan and Keller, thank you for the honor of photographing your love!
