lakeside wedding at Pine Island Clubhouse
I’ve got a gorgeous wedding at Pine Island Clubhouse to share with you! Getting to know Sarah and Tyler has been an absolute delight! I could tell from the day we sat down over coffee over a year ago that they were the type of couple people just love being around. These two have such positive energy that truly attracts and commands a room. They love to laugh and have fun in each other’s company, which of course made for an awesome reception at the Pine Island Club off of Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina. And aren’t they beautiful together? When couples have chemistry like Sarah and Tyler do, it also makes for gorgeous portraits where all I have to do is place them and simply let them interact naturally!
Sarah and Tyler chose to have their wedding at Mt. Horeb UMC in Lexington, South Carolina. The church has a gorgeous facade which we used for some pre-ceremony portraits of the ladies and the men. The worship center inside is wide and open with beautiful stained glass over the choir loft. I have always been a sucker for stained glass, so I had to get a post-ceremony portrait of Sarah and Tyler at the altar with the glass behind them! Although my couples know me for non-traditional posing and natural lighting, I still think it’s important to get a few traditional portraits in the mix! Plus, it pushes me to work on my off-camera flash!
From there, it was off to the reception for family formals and a night of fun, food, and dancing! Everyone was so excited to celebrate Sarah and Tyler’s wedding at Pine Island Clubhouse at Lake Murray! The venue was beautifully decorated with lace, babies’ breath and greenery, and Tiffany blue accents throughout. I also loved the touches of twine burlap added onto mason jars for centerpieces which gave a light, airy feel to the tables. And on a slightly different note – Sarah and Tyler’s choice of food and cake was SPOT ON!
In our pre-wedding communication, Sarah had mentioned to me that it was very important to have sunset photos on Lake Murray. This allowed us to start the reception a little faster since I knew I’d be grabbing them at a later time to photograph these images. (Just a thought for future brides!) By the time we started their portraits, the light was like warm, melted gold… soooo romantic and amazingly beautiful. I love how these turned out!
Sarah and Tyler, congratulations on your marriage! Thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer and sharing your special day with me!
