I have photographed hundreds of engagement sessions, but I mean it whole heartedly when I say that I never grow tired of them! I love having the opportunity to meet with couples before their big day for engagement photos! It gives us a great opportunity to get to know one another while at the same time capturing gorgeous, relaxed images that perfectly showcase their relationship. Meeting with Dani and Ben was no different – as a matter of fact, I’m grinning from ear-to-ear just thinking about this beautiful bride- and groom- to be! That’s why I am so excited to share their Arbor Hills Nature Preserve engagement session today!
Let me just start by saying that I truly think Dani and Ben’s engagement session was meant to be! Their chosen date for their session was sandwiched between some not-so-ideal weather. I had been keeping an eye on my weather app for the week leading up to their engagement session, and the report continued to say partly sunny with perfect, mild temperatures for their session date! And, fortunately, the weather held out just as promised! The three of us were able to meet for their Arbor Hills Nature Preserve engagement session and had a great time working together! Dani and Ben are all smiles with so much positive energy that radiates from their images. Although I always provide guidance in my engagement sessions, the two of them honestly looked so natural and confident that they didn’t need a ton of direction – they are pros! It has me so thrilled for their big day in March of next year, because we’re going to get to create even more gorgeous photos and memories together!
Dani and Ben chose Arbor Hills for their engagement session setting because they preferred a natural feel, which allowed the two of them to be the focus of their images. I loved that they took my suggestion in bringing a change of outfits – one was a bit more casual, and the other more dressed up. They looked amazing in each set, but I especially adore getting to close out a session with formal attire and an amazing sunset!
This springtime Arbor Hills Nature Preserve engagement session was filled with smiles, laughter, and the cutest inside jokes shared between the two of them. It is always so fun getting to witness the connection between a bride- and groom- to be. When I am able to show this in images, I know that I’ve done my job as a wedding and engagement photographer!
Dani and Ben will be tying the knot in March of 2019 at Ashton Gardens in Corinth. I could not be more thrilled to be working with this amazing couple, and am so excited for their big day! Dani and Ben, thank you for the honor of capturing your love story! I hope you get to come back to Arbor Hills soon with your furbaby! :)
Learn a bit more about Dani and Ben, and view more of my favorites from this springtime Arbor Hills Nature Preserve engagement session below!
What has you most excited for your wedding day?
Dani: “To marry the man of my dreams! I am also excited to share our special day with friends and family.”
Ben: “To marry my best friend!”
What is your idea of a perfect date night?
Dani: “When Ben takes me out to dinner and the restaurant is a surprise! Then we end the night back home watching a movie with our puppy.”
Ben: “Cooking a nice dinner with Dani, then drinking some wine watching our favorite show.”
What is something funny or endearing about your future spouse?
Dani: “Ben is so funny when it comes to his hair. His cowlick in the front sticks straight up and he is constantly trying to fix it. We can’t leave the house without me checking his hair. One of the few silly things that I love!”
Ben: “We have a ton of inside jokes and sometimes we have to remind each other we are in public. Not everyone would understand our spider jumps and turtle kisses.”
Do you have any advice for couples who are currently preparing to have their engagement portraits taken?
Dani: “Have fun! The pictures of laughter in between the poses are what I am most excited about. These pictures will be looked at forever so have your personality shine through.”
Ben: “Smile big. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Do what your fiancé asks (with a smile).”
