Y’all, I can’t believe how fast the summer flew by! This summer White Rock Lake engagement session was captured months ago, and of course I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to feature it on the blog! Crazy enough, Rosie and Connor were actually married this past weekend at Paradise Cove in Grapevine, making this blog post even more special! These two make the sweetest, most beautiful pair with an even better sense of humor. I could go on and on about how unique their big day was, but I definitely need to save that for their wedding feature! For now, I am thrilled to share some of my favorite images from their White Rock Lake engagement as well as a little “get to know them” Q&A below!
How did you two meet?
“We met in medical school at Texas Tech in Lubbock. I was a first year and he was a second. We had mutual friends and thus attended similar events. We went on the same annual med school ski trip. With all of the tequila and Connor’s glorious mustache, the relationship blossomed from there! We went on a few dates and a month later, Connor proposed with a cake for me to be his girlfriend. I said yes, and we’ve been together ever since!”
How did Connor propose?
“We went on a vacation with both of our families to Estes Park in the mountains of Colorado, a place that is special and frequented by both of our families. While there, we planned to go hiking on his favorite trail one day with a picnic (he had not agreed to do a picnic in the prior 3.5 years of dating despite my pleads so I knew something was up). On our way down, we had a beautiful lookout of the mountains and the park and stopped for our picnic. He got down and proposed there and it was beautiful! We had a celebration with all of our families that night and then flew of to a nice weekend together in Portland.”
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!
“Our wedding is slightly non-traditional, but it is us. Connor is now referring to it as a carnival. I am probably most excited for our bounce house with LED lights and dance music, and the pizza buffet for dinner, since pizza and dancing are some of my favorite things…besides Connor! We are both incredibly excited to have all of our closest friends and families in one place! We do not get to spend nearly enough time with these people and are so thrilled to have everyone together to celebrate with us.”
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?
“Do not stress. We were a bit intimidated at the idea of formal and traditional photos because we are both pretty goofy and are not your typical couple who do things your typical way. Just trust your photographer and everything will be great.”
How was your overall session experience?
“Emily made it so easy, laid back, and fun! We actually had a great time, and she was able to make it very personalized and us!”
Tell me one interesting thing about one another!
“Connor is a man of many, many, many hobbies. Currently, he has a massive garden in our backyard with just about every fruit, vegetable, and herb you can imagine! He loves working on beefing up both his record and Nintendo game collection with new additions almost daily, aging his own whiskey, is an avid outdoor adventurer, fantastic chef in the kitchen…all the while playing dad to our new puppy. I never know what tomorrow will hold with him, but it’s always guaranteed to be interesting in the best way possible.”
“Rosie is a self-proclaimed pizza aficionado who understands that pageantry is everything when it comes to a good time.”
