Usually when I arrive to photograph a wedding, I’m generally expecting a lot of happy faces, an overall sense of levity, and some laughter as well. I mean, it’s a wedding – and they should be filled with exactly that type of emotion! However, there are wedding days where I do find myself completely wrapped up in the stories and shared sentiment of the day. As a wedding photographer, it’s a really special feeling to know that you have been entrusted with the privilege of documenting the beginning of a couple’s story as husband and wife. You can absolutely help direct and steer the flow of the day, but then little moments unfold where you’re happily reminded: “Not your show.” And quite honestly, that’s where the magic starts.

Mallory and Jordan hosted their romantic wedding at The Bowden in Keller, Texas. It was my first time at this venue and I enjoyed every minute! The outside has so many picturesque locations and the inside is flooded with beautiful natural light. The team at Mayfield Events did a fabulous job filling the venue with Mallory and Jordan’s vision! They designed and styled a perfect celebration for the sweetest couple. I loved the steel blue shades enhanced by dark reds and silvers – such a unique way to incorporate fall colors!

My favorite moment of the day? Easy – it was Mallory and Jordan’s first look, and maybe one of my favorites ever. Rather than have brides tap grooms on the shoulder, I prefer to instruct them to stop halfway, say his name, and have him turn around. This way, the groom can see the bride’s look fully put together! This is exactly what Mallory did, except she choked on Jordan’s name once or twice because she was overcome with so…much…emotion. I about died!

Once Mallory and Jordan were official, they were whisked off to their reception where they spent the evening mingling and toasting to their new lives together. We were even able to get them on the dance floor a couple of times surrounded by their friends and family! At the end of the evening we sent them off in classic style with sparklers and lots and lots of cheering!

Congratulations, Mallory and Jordan – it was such a joy to get to know you both and celebrate you at your wedding at The Bowden! Wishing you all of my heartfelt best!
