There is something completely breathtaking about a classic and elegant wedding! I never tire of the timeless romance of a church ceremony coupled with a ballroom reception! For me, LeeAnn and Bennett’s wedding at the Room on Main in Dallas and Royal Lane Baptist Church was no different. From photographing this beautiful couple’s engagement session at White Rock Lake to capturing their big day this past May, it’s been a dream getting to know these two. I’m so excited to share some of my favorite moments from this classic Dallas wedding!
We began the day at LeeAnn’s mothers house where LeeAnn, her friends, and some close family members were having hair and makeup finished. I loved capturing the bridal details LeeAnn lovingly collected for me as well as a fun champagne toast with her bridesmaids! Just a few last minute touches on hair and lips and we were off to Royal Lane Baptist Church!
LeeAnn began putting on her dress once we arrived at Royal Lane Baptist Church. It was then that you could tell the emotions started to set in! While the buttons were secured and her veil was placed, Bennett arrived separately for portraits with my second shooter. Both the bride and groom looked absolutely incredible and were ready for the biggest day of their life together.
LeeAnn and Bennett opted for a first look on the steps of the Royal Lane Baptist Church sanctuary – and oh my goodness, it was the sweetest thing. When Bennett turned around and laid eyes on his gorgeous bride, he was completely taken in awe at how stunning she looked. I think, for Bennett, this was the moment that the reality and gravity of the occasion began to set in! After some whispered words together, hugs, and kisses, we began their first set of portraits. The initial nerves were gone and it was time to get these two married!
LeeAnn and Bennett’s wedding ceremony at Royal Lane Baptist Church was so elegant yet heartfelt at the same time. I loved that Bennett still got a little emotional seeing his bride come down the aisle – I tell all of my couples that first looks definitely do not take away from the impact of a bride walking down the aisle! Friends and family watched LeeAnn and Bennett make it official – they were pronounced husband and wife and shared their “first kiss” as a married couple!
We were able to capture a few more portraits in the “golden hour” light before heading over to The Room on Main for their wedding reception. But before they walked the red carpet into their grand entrance, we made sure to get some downtown photos that captured the unique city vibe of Dallas. These were some of my favorite photos of the day with the lights and buildings behind LeeAnn and Bennett! From there it was time to party…and believe me, that they did! Between the amazing live music, the open bar, great food, and even greater company, I could tell that they didn’t want the night to end! After a sweet last dance with just the two of them, we sent them off in style! And what better way on Memorial Day Weekend than with miniature American flags?!
It was such an honor to share in LeeAnn and Bennett’s wedding day. They are truly such a special couple, and it has been an absolute honor getting to capture this time in their lives together. LeeAnn and Bennett, congratulations on your marriage! Wishing you years of laughter, love, and adventure together!
