Baseball Themed Engagement Session in Dallas

Today I am beyond thrilled to be sharing Sarah and David’s baseball themed engagement photos in Reverchon Park and Uptown Dallas! As a Dallas wedding photographer, it always makes me so excited when couples come to me not only with excitement about their engagement photos, but also with focused ideas! I love helping brides and grooms custom tailor their engagement session to fit their personalities so that it best reflects their unique couple identity! In Sarah and David’s case, Sarah approached me asking about the possibility of baseball themed engagement photos. I thought the idea sounded wonderful (especially because David has played baseball his whole life) and immediately started looking up engagement session locations in Dallas that would fit the bill! We decided together on Reverchon Park in Uptown Dallas because it had a baseball field backdrop as well as some open space and greenery (with some early blossoms) for more classic portraits. The result was a perfect combination of fun and playful engagement photos as well as timeless images that both perfectly captured Sarah and David just enjoying time together!

It isn’t always easy coordinating outfits for an engagement session, but Sarah and David really “knocked it out of the park” (ha, get it?!) for their photos! They started with complimentary blue and red colors – Sarah in a red tank and blue sweater with jeans, and David in a patterned red button down and also jeans. This made it easy for them to transition into their baseball themed garb, both in Texas Rangers baseball jerseys! They had a baseball bat, baseball gloves, and a baseball to complete the look for their baseball themed engagement photos. The baseball field at Reverchon Park provided great color and texture as the backdrop! Once we finished up there, we moved to the park area which had a fantastic Dallas skyline view. Sarah and David changed into dressier clothing, with Sarah in a beautiful blue dress and David looking handsome in a suit jacket, button down, and jeans. I loved that he even brought along a cowboy hat and boots! As we explored Reverchon Park while taking engagement photos in Uptown Dallas, I enjoyed getting to know these two newly dubbed Texans (they just moved to the area from KY!). They are just as sweet as can be, and the perfect compliment to one another!

Enjoy learning about Sarah and David’s love story while viewing their adorable baseball themed engagement photos!

How did you two meet?

“We met on Match.com. I sent David a message and we exchanged numbers. David suggested we meet for drinks the following night, and we did. We spent a good two hours talking that night, which surprised me a lot as to how easy it was. I’m usually very quiet around new people. After that first date, we were doing things together about every weekend, and it’s always been as easy as it was that first night!”

Tell me about the proposal!

“David had suggested on Christmas Eve we have a big dinner at his parents’ house with his parents, my parents, his sister and my brother, his aunt and uncle and grandma. We had dinner and there was some gift exchange happening. We had already gave each other our Christmas gifts the night before, so I was just watching everybody when I heard my name. I looked over and David got down on his knee and proposed with everyone there! The only people who knew it was going to happen was David’s mother, and my father, who David had pulled aside and asked for permission from earlier that evening. It was so sweet the planning that he put into it and pulling off a surprise – I had no idea it was coming!”

Regarding your upcoming wedding in September – what are you most excited about?

“For David, he says getting married on a baseball field seems pretty awesome! And I think that is my favorite part too. Not many people get to get married at a place that holds so much meaning to them. We went on countless dates to this ballpark, our family’s met for the first time. We came for birthdays, concerts, baseball…so we already have all kinds of memories there. Now we get to get to add more memories to it!”

FYI: Sarah and David are getting married at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, KY – home of the Lexington Legends!

Tell me one funny or interesting thing about your fiance/fiancee!

“I would say that David goes all in for everything he does. Whether it’s his baseball collections, or golf, or whatever it is. He goes full out for it, no matter what! He says about me that I love wrinkly puppies, and playing with the wrinkles – especially little baby bulldogs!”

I hope you all have LOVED these baseball themed engagement photos! Sarah and David, I am so very excited for your wedding in Lexington, KY this September! I’m so lucky to be your wedding photographer and look forward to capturing your big day!
