Meet Sarah and David, two newlyweds that I had the pleasure of working with back in September! A wedding is one of the biggest moments in life, and that’s just why I loved working with these two. Not only were Sarah and David excited about their wedding in Kentucky, but they wanted to do so in a way that would incorporate a shared passion. This was one of the most unique weddings in which I have ever participated, and the outcome was truly amazing!

Sarah and David are huge baseball fans, which showed in their baseball themed engagement session I got to photograph last year! At one point in the planning process, David made a joke about having their wedding on a ball field. Little did they know that this joke would actually turn into reality! The pair went through all the traditional options for potential wedding venues. Before they know it, they found themselves saying “I do” on the pitcher’s mound at the Lexington Legends ball park in Kentucky. This was the first time I had been to Kentucky, and was pleased to find that everyone was super welcoming and kind. It is so nice to feel welcomed in a not so familiar place!

Sarah and David’s baseball field wedding in Lexington, Kentucky was filled with such warmth and joy. I adored how these two incorporated their love for baseball in such a creative way. During the ceremony, the father of the bride and mother of the groom sang “Sunrise, Sunset” from Fiddler on the Roof. Later at the reception, the father of the bride gave a moving toast that led everyone in the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” which he used to sing to Sarah when she was a baby. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room!

All in all, this wedding was very intimate and seemed to revolve around family the entire day. These folks were amazing, and welcomed me to their home town just as if I was part of the family. I even got to see the couple off to their honeymoon at the airport as I headed back home to Texas! My biggest heartfelt congrats to Sarah and David – these two deserve all the happiness in the world!
